Series Operation

In certain situations, the electronic loads are used in series for some special purposes.  

2.1 Soft ON-OFF & Over current protection

In CC mode, when the set current value of the load is bigger than the short-circuit current value, the electronic load has the following two functions: 

1) Soft On-OFF Function. Users can control the circuit on/off by the keys at the front panel, and the hardware trigger port and RS232 interface at the rear panel.
2) Over-current Protection Function. The load will ensure that the loop current is not bigger than the set current.

2.2 A programmable high-power CC source
In CC mode, when the set current value is smaller than the short-circuit current value,   the electronic load and the measured power supply will form a programmable high-power CC source, and the CC point is the set value of the load.
2.3 A 5½ digit ammeter
and Ip + / Ip-/ Ipp measurement 
No matter what mode the electronic load is in, it equals a 5½ digit ammeter. Moreover, the load can also real-time display the current peak value, valley value and peak-to-peak value. This function be used to test ripple current and surge current, etc.
2.4 Monitoring current waveform and digitizing current waveform output 
At the rear panel of the load, a 0 ~ 10V current waveform monitoring port is provided. Users can observe the current waveform by an oscilloscope. Meanwhile, the load also has the current waveform capture function with 500kHz / 16 bits / 4096 points output. It is used for the reproduction of the digitizing waveform and further intelligence analysis.
2.5 A programmable high-power pulse generator 
When the load in the DYNA mode or LIST mode, the load can serve as a high-power pulse generator with adjustable frequency, duty cycle and rising/falling edge.

2.6 A milliohm meter

When the remotes sensing function of the load is enabled, and the remote input of the load is connected to the both ends of the load resistor (RL), the equivalent resistance displayed in real-time by the load is the actual resistance of the RL. This application can serve as a 4-wire milliohm meter, used to test the resistance.

Please note that power displayed in real-time by the load at the moment is not the real power of the load.  If users want to conduct such kind of application, please ensure that actual loading power is less than the load’s rated power. Otherwise the load might be damaged.
